Understanding Energy Poverty Factors in Senegal vs. Namibia, Guatemala vs. Ecuador, Egypt vs. Türkiye, Kazakhstan vs. Indonesia, and Spain vs. Italy

The 2024 competition highlighted pairs of countries in each of five regions: the Americas, Africa, Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Teams analyzed and compared factors contributing to energy poverty in their chosen pair of countries, including accessibility, environmental impact, quality and reliability of services, affordability, safety and security. While the focus was (as always) on addressing global energy poverty, teams also had to take into account the societal, economic, and environmental impacts of their plans.
